Description
Bedec Barn Paint is ideally suited to the protection of exterior buildings such as barns, stables, outbuildings, sheds, silos, windmills, and factory units (corrugated and metal box cladding).
It is highly recommended to coat, fencing, gates, farm equipment, tanks, drainpipes, doors, windows and many other areas around gardens, farms and factories.
It can be applied to previously painted surfaces, even those coated with weathered bitumen, tar varnish or creosote.
This acrylic system is a tough durable microporous protective coating with excellent colour retention.
It will flex with the substrate exhibiting reduced flaking and blistering.
Two or three coats can be applied quickly within one day, especially during the summer months.
The advantage over conventional systems is that the coats applied are all Barn Paint, therefore no stress is built up within the coating layers.
No need to etch or pre prime galvanised steel, Prime bare steel or rusty surfaces with Bedec Metal Primer.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE Stir thoroughly, check colour before use. Apply by brush roller or spray (use HVLP or Airless spray for best results). Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C or when foggy or likely to rain before the paint has dried. Ensure all surfaces are free from oil, grease, dirt, dust and loose particles. On existing painted surfaces, remove all loose and flaking paint and thoroughly rub down with abrasive paper. Any new finished wood needs to be abraded. On untreated, weathered wood, new wood, cement, render etc. or any porous substrate the first coat should be thinned with 20-30% clean water. Some surfaces are liable to have water solubles or wood treatments which can cause staining and loss of adhesion especially with white and lighter colours. Substrates to be careful of are some plywoods, red cedar wood, very resinous timber or damp walls. Test areas liable to staining and seal with Bedec Stain Block.
COVERAGE Approx. 13-15 square metres per litre per coat depending upon substrate texture, porosity and application method.
DRYING Touch dry 2 hours, recoatable after 4 hours at 18°C 65% relative humidity.
CLEANUP Clean tools and equipment with water
