Description

Thermoguard Wallguard SFR is a decorative finish for application in a fire protective paint system by Thermoguard, formulated to be applied over Thermoguard Safewalls Insulating Basecoat or Thermoguard 30/60 Basecoat.

Best Uses

Thermoguard Wallguard SFR Smoke & Flame Retardant is formulated to work within a Thermoguard fire system that protects bare and painted walls. This system will protect low risk Class 1, moderate risk Class 2 to high risk Class 4 multi-layer painted walls and ceilings with any number, type or combination of types of paint to BS EN Class B s1 dO. Therefore it is applicable to the safest standard for toxic smoke s1 flaming droplets dO and flamespread / insulation Class A2 + B. Compliant to old Class O. These results achieved at UKAS approved Fire Test Laboratory over 10, 14 and 20 coats of paint applied over several years to demonstrate real world protection.

The full system provides full protection in just 2 coats, saving you time and money.

  • Tintable to NCS, RAL, BS4800, BS381 and Thermoguard Select colour ranges
  • Can be used externally in 2 coats without the insulating basecoat for Class s1 smoke
  • Can be used as part of a system to achieve 30 or 60 minute Fire Resistance over Thermoguard Intumescent 30/60 Basecoat
  • Finished system provides a decorators’ acrylic-smooth aesthetically pleasing, durable microbial resistant fire protection finishes to internal walls and ceilings

How it works: Thermoguard Safewalls Insulating Basecoat expands in a fire to create a resilient insulating barrier. Thermoguard Wallcoat / Wallguard Smoke and Flame Retardant emits a safe fire damping vapour in a fire to control flame spread and suppress smoke.
Wallcoat SFR’s polyurethane hardened acrylic “cross-links” during the drying process to form a smoother, harder, more cleanable surface than typical wall paints and help eliminate the microscopic pockets that host bacteria which prevent effective cleaning. Provides a  unique concentrated mix of safe, biocidal metal encapsulated nano-particles attacks viruses and bacteria that settle on surfaces, damaging their protective “envelope” to kill their live cores and disable their spikes penetration of lungs cells.

Application

Thermoguard Safewalls Insulating Basecoat or Thermoguard 30/60 Basecoat must be clean and fully hard dry. Do not apply in temperatures under 8°C or above 30°C. Maximum relative Humidity below 75%. Surface should be at least 3°C above the dew point.

Stir well before use. Apply 1 coat of Wallguard / Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant.

Brush or Roller Application: Use woven short pile roller sleeve or synthetic brush. Best wall paint method is to first lay paint across an area, then promptly roll vertically.

Spray Application: Pressure Pot & Gun conventional with hand-portable compressor – thin 5% water OR Airless Graco 1500, 3500 or equivalent. 3/8” line, 30 mesh filter on machine, no filter in gun. 521, 523, 621 or 623 tip.

Ensure coverage is applied as per can i.e., 20 sqm can covers 20 sqm.
